She could get none of the boys she had liked in high school to fall in love with her. But when she became a multi-billionaire in another country, a high school reunion brought her back home and face to face with all the guys that she never had a chance to be with back in her highschool days. Now, it was Xena who was getting chased by her crushes.
"Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!" Three gunshot sounds echoed in the shooting range.
"Boss, you are amazing. You hit the target three times right in the chest." A guy wearing a black suit said to a lady in a white fit outfit.
She swung her brown hair from her front to her back, then her pink lip curved into a deep smile as her black eyes widened.
All the guys in the shooting range had their eyes off their shooting target and focused on her. She could see the lust in their eyes and their yearning for her, and she loved every bit of attention.
"Excuse me, pretty. May I know your name?" A husky guy asked.
She slyly giggled as she drew near him. When their bodies were close enough, her fingers pressed against his chest before she tiptoed towards his ear.
"It's Xena." She whispered, then let out a soft breeze into his ears.
"Well, mine is Derrie." He said with a seductive voice.
"Boss, your phone is ringing." The man in the black suit announced.
"Carlez, how many times did I tell you not to disturb me when I am talking to a handsome dude?" Xena told her bodyguard.
"Countless times, boss. I am sorry, but this person keeps calling." Carlez said.
Xena reluctantly showed her palm, and Cralez rested the phone in it. She frowned when she saw the name on the screen.
"Why is this lousy human being calling me?" Xena mumbled before answering the call.
"Xenn... What's up, boo? Are you still nerdy like when you were in high school? Gosh, it's been so many years since graduation. Plus, you have disappeared from the surface of the earth like you never existed. It's not like anyone noticed you in high school anyway. Did you find a rock to crawl in and hide your face from the outside world?"
Xena rolled her eyes at every word the caller had said. She was amazed at how years had passed, and still, some people continue to remain the same.
"Who am I speaking with?" Xena asked before softly giggling since she knew who was speaking.
"Wow! How dare you forget about me? It's Sophie. The former leader of the cheerleading team from your former high school." Sophie's angry voice flowed into Xena's ears.
"Oh, that Sophie. What do you want?" Xena asked.
The line became silent for a while, and Xena knew that Sophie was enraged by her reply.
"Haha. Who knew that a few years out of high school would make you arrogant? Anyway, I am hosting a one-month class reunion on my daddy's island, and the others thought that it wouldn't feel the same if everyone didn't show up, including you. So, you got invited too."
Xena could hear the arrogance in Sophie's voice, but she was not the same Xena from her high school days, so it did not bother her.
"When and where?" Xena asked with a cunning smile on her face.
"Uh, you are willing to show your face?" Sophie's shocked voice echoed from the phone.
"Why not? You and everyone is going to be there, so why can't I show up?"
"Well, your attitude has changed a bit, but I am sure your hideous face is still the same."
"Sophie, please keep those insults for yourself and send me the address to your father island."
"Whatever, I will message it to you. Just know that all your high school crushes will be there, and since they were all not interested in you before. I am sure that they won't be since I guess that you are still poor and nerdy as before, but good luck, honey."
Xena ended the call with a pleasing smile on her face, then handed the phone over to Cralez.
"Oh, I am looking forward to that." Xena mumbled out of excitement.
"Sweetheart, where were we before that call disturbed our conversation?" Derrie asked.
Xena's mood had changed, and she did not look gentle anymore, but her expression has become aloof.
"I don't have time to continue our discussion. Cralez, let's go. We have some shopping to do." Xena coldly replied.
Derrie grabbed Xena's hand as she was about to walk away. He then pulled her towards him, causing her to slam into his body.
"Come on, baby. I am sure you can make time for me." Derrie rudely said with his hand tightly around Xena's waist.
Xena frowned at him before forcefully hitting her knee between his leg, which caused him to drop to his knee. She then punched him hard against his nose.
Everyone at the shooting range stared in shock and amusement at Xena and Derrie.
"You bitch!" Derrie screamed as blood rolled from his nose.
"That's what you get for messing with a badass boss." Xena stated with a faint smile before walking away with her bodyguard beside her.
As she and Cralez entered the hallway, Xena stopped walking and turned to stare at her bodyguard.
"Boss, what's wrong?" Cralez worriedly inquired when he saw the anger in Xena's eyes.
"Why did I hire you?" Xena asked.
"To protect you, boss."
"Did you protect me in there?"
Cralez bent his head in shame, knowing that he had disappointed Xena again.
"No, boss." Cralez whispered.
"Why?" Xena asked.
"I am sorry, boss. You are such a skillful fighter, and that makes me sometimes forget that I have to defend you. I know that you don't need me to protect you because you are a better fighter than me, so that causes me to forget my job most of the time."
"Don't let it happen again. I hired you because I don't want to get my hands bloody all the time."
"Yes, boss. I promise from today that I will never allow anyone to take advantage of you."
Xena's phone buzzed, and she stared at the screen and saw that she had a message from Sophie.
"I may not need your promise now." Xena said with a pleasing smile after reading the text.
"Why is that, boss." Cralez worriedly asked, thinking that he was about to get fired.
"Because where I am going for the next month, no one can know my status, that's why I can't take you or the other guys with me." Xena explained.
"Why is that, boss?"
"I am traveling back home, and I don't want to ruin the fun."
Cralez looked confused, but he knew that Xena was a smart woman, and if she said that she did not need him for one month, then who was him to argue.
The moment Xena walked out the door, her fifty bodyguards assembled in a protective position around her.
"Welcome back, boss!" They unitedly announced.
Xena gave them a brief smile before entering into the driver's seat of her Bugatti Divo. She then speedily drove ahead of her bodyguards' cars.
