Krista's POV
The banquet hall is full of noise and excitement. I am holding a goblet in my hand and looking at a pair of men and women who are surrounded and flattered by people not far away.
Listening to the flattery of people around me, I disdain it in my heart. Looking around the hall, I saw a lot of people, and suddenly there were two people that caught my attention. One of them is Cheney, the president of the Fischer Group, the business giant of the City A. The other one is Zaniyah, a great dancer and a big lady of the Brennan group also in City A.
The two people are good together and they are fine by the look on their faces. But in my eyes, those two people are just small people who are in alliance.
A moment later, the man put down his glass and took the lead in leaving the meeting place while the woman remained to talk with others.
When I saw it, I also put down my glass and followed the man. When he walked into the elevator, I quickly chased him in. He looked at me with his eyebrows curled, and his face was always cute.
I pouted, "Future brother-in-law, I have something to talk to you about. Take me to your room."
"I had no time." he told me coldly.
"It won't take long, I promise. In ten minutes, you will need me."
Cheney's POV
I looked at her face. The beauty of Krista is well known throughout the City A. In my eyes, women are not divided into beauty and ugliness, only lovable and annoying.
But the first time I met Krista at the Brennan family, I was amazed by her beauty.
The elevator door opened on the 66th floor, and I went out, followed by Krista.
I stood at the door of the elevator and looked down at her. "Even your sister can't come into this room. Are you sure you want to come in?"
She smiled seductively. "Of course."
I said nothing more and took her back to my room. She went to the wine cabinet to open the bottle of red wine, took two goblets, poured the wine in our glasses, and returned to me. She handed me one of the glasses. "I like drinking while talking about things."
I didn't take the glass of wine in her hand but took another one. She smiled, sat down against my body, took a sip of red wine, and didn't speak. I also took a sip afterward.
This woman, what is she going to do? I'm kind of curious. But only a few minutes later, I noticed something strange in my body.
I looked at her, swallowed my saliva calmly, and stared at the red wine glass in front of me. "Krista, you are brave enough to drug me."
She looked at me sideways and smiled, "Future brother-in-law, I am not daring, so I just told you in advance that you will need me ten minutes later."
Krista's POV
He doesn't love Zaniyah, I'm sure. But Zaniyah likes him very much, and I know it. The most important thing is this morning, I found the design drawing in my father's favorite book before his death. My father died unjustly, and only I can avenge him. That's why... I have to get this man today.
Cheney's POV
Feeling her stiffness on my body, I stopped and whispered in her ear, "Krista, I won't push anyone. If you don't want to, you can leave now."
She smiled, wrapped around my neck, and spoiled, "How come? My future brother-in-law is so handsome, and everybody wants to sleep with you, which is probably the dream of all girls in this City."
I picked her up sideways and put her directly on the bed. I suddenly paused, I looked down at her and asked. "First time?"
She smiled. "Does it matter?"
"Don't you have a boyfriend?" I asked her with a smile.
She shrugged and said indifferently, "I have, but he was robbed by someone. By the way, how are you? How was the..."
I stopped her from talking and began to enjoy her wonderful body...
Krista's POV
At three o'clock in the morning, I was lying on the bed, tired. He was half lying-in bed and looked down at me. "Go ahead, what do you want?"
I raised my finger and gently poked him in the chest. "I want you to marry me."
"Dig your sister's corner? Aren't you afraid of being reviled?"
"What do I have to do with what others think of me?"
"Reason."
"For what reason?"
"The reason for wanting me to marry you."
"Reason..." I smiled lightly. "You know, I am the drag bottle brought into the Brennan family by my mother's remarriage. All the people in the Brennan family hate me. Since I am a nasty existence, shouldn't the nasty person do nasty things? Marrying you, don't wronged my reputation as a part of the family."
"If I marry you, will you bear the stigma with you? This is not a good deal."
"But... you seem to have no choice now."
He hooked his lips and looked at me calmly. "It seems that you have made other preparations."
I raised my eyebrows, and my face was casual. "Today is my ovulation period, and you didn't do anything just now, did you?"

"Lucien, let's get a divorce," I said in a peremptory tone that was long overdue, the most decisive farewell to this absurd marriage. We had been married for exactly three years-three years that, for me, were filled with nothing but endless loneliness and torment. For three years, the husband who should have stood by my side through every storm, Lucien Sullivan, had completely disappeared from my life as if he had never existed. He vanished without a trace, leaving me alone to endure this empty, desolate marriage. Today, I finally received his message: "I'm back. Come pick me up at the airport." When I read his words, my heart leapt with joy, and I raced to the airport, thinking that he finally understood my love and was coming back to me. But his cruelty was far worse than I could have ever imagined-he was accompanied by a pregnant woman, and that woman was Carla, my closest and most trusted friend. In that moment, all of my previous excitement, all my hope, and all of our shared laughter and tears turned into the sharpest of daggers, stabbing into my heart and leaving me gasping for air. Now, all I want is to escape from this place that has left me so broken-to lick my wounds in solitude. Even if these wounds will remain with me for the rest of my life, I refuse to have anything to do with him ever again. He should know that it was his own hand that trampled our love underfoot, that his coldness and betrayal created this irreparable situation. But when he heard those words, he desperately clung to this broken, crumbling marriage, unwilling to let it end-almost as though doing so could rewind time and return everything to how it used to be. "Aurora, come back. I regret everything!" Regret? Those simple words stirred no emotion in me-only endless sadness and fury. My heart let out a frantic, desperate scream: It's too late for any of this!
