"You're going to marry Gevan."
A middle-aged man spoke confidently. Meanwhile, in front of him, a girl with brown hair stared at him in disbelief.
"Who is Gevan?" She asked and looked confused.
"He is the only son of the William family."
"Hoo." The girl nodded with a relaxed face while taking a piece of bread in front of her. "Of course, I don't want to get married, Dad." She continued, then took a bite of the bread in her hand.
"I'm not asking for your opinion. It's an order." The man called dad had already lost his temper with his eldest daughter. But he still tried to smile to win this important talk.
"Why not? My opinion matters. I'll sleep with him after marriage."
"Brianna got it. He's a nice guy. I just want you to be happy in the future."
"I'm happy, Dad. I'm 20. I'm too young to get married. Besides, I have a boyfriend."
"Do you think I don't know? In college, all you do
is fight and create problems. No man wants to
approach you. Let alone being your boyfriend. Blair's always tells me that."
Briana rolls her eyeballs lazily. Blaire, the name that makes her sick every time she hears her dad say it. Ever since her mom passed Brianna has been alone and away from people. Even when her father remarried and brought Blaire a year
younger than him as a younger sister, she never
cared for her. But lucky his life is not like the story of the main character of the novel she often reads. Tortured by stepmother and step-sister, dumped by biological father, and dumped by a beloved lover. She is so grateful for that, being surrounded by loving people makes her feel good. At least that's what she saw and thought until months ago.
"When our family fell, the Williams Family was always there to lend a helping hand. Then some time ago, when the fashion business managed in your name was on the verge of collapse, again the Williams Family helped. They really wanna get to know you, darling. Until an agreement comes that we will marry you and their only son Gevan. He was a good man. This is a great opportunity, Brianna. Could you possibly find a better man than Gevan?" asked the man.
Brianna rocking it's great her dad can tell good and bad a person. But unfortunately, his father seems to be blind to the ugliness of the two serpents in their home. A couple of weeks ago, Brianna just realized that Blaire is always 5 levels more special than she is. Then the two women living with him are very good at saving expressions.
Why wasn't only Blaire married him? She is pretty, smart, and talented than me."
Brianna asked her dad. Her father glanced at her. He looks confused looking for a reason to answer Brianna's simple question. Although Brianna could guess what answer her father would give her.
"Uhm ... They want you. Besides that, you are the eldest daughter in our family, and you are suitable to be the next Mrs. William, Brianna Abraham."
Brianna stared at her father. She saw a sneaky smile there, but she doesn't want to be crazy to think about it. The most important is how she can get out of this situation smartly.
"Well, Mr. Abraham, here your first daughter agrees about the arrangement married with Gevan William."
Brianna got a little smile. She should spread the conversation first then think of how to stop this ridiculous planning of a marriage. She still wants to chase her career, have fun and make money to live happily far from this city, but that's such things she should forget if she gets married.
"Yeah. I know, you are my daughter." Abraham chuckled.
"Does it mean that I was previously suspected of as an adopted daughter?"
"Of course, no. You are my biological daughter. I made you with your mama."
Brianna didn't show any response to Abraham's. After finishing the juice in her glass, she chose to walk away without saying goodbye to Abraham.
"What did he say? You are my daughter?" Brianna grumbles. "You stupid, I'm not getting married!"

"Miss Abraham! Listen! This isn't the first time you've messed up the library. I'm tired of all the trouble you've caused!"
A woman in her 50s looked tense. His anger was unstoppable since a few minutes ago, a young girl with a shirt left open and her brown hair tied in a ponytail beat a girl (not a slap, but a real punch with her fists. The victim looked surprised and a little pathetic).
"You heard me, right?!" The woman snapped.
"Of course, Mrs. Weasley. You're screaming pretty loud. Even the lipstick-wearing girl in the corner can hear you."
All eyes in the room turned to follow the girl's index finger. A moment later, Mrs. Weasley came to her senses and returned her focus to the thug girl in front of her.
"I will not forgive you. From now on, you are not allowed to visit the library for 3 months. Then you! Take this girl to the student health center!" Mrs. Weasley looked at the man next to her and ordered him to carry the girl's abuse victim who on the outside looked pitiful.
"You drama queen! I only punched your face, not your legs! Being a burden is your habit, isn't it?!"
"Brianna! Enough! I know you always come to the library just to sleep, so go ahead. I blocked your library access card!" Mrs. Weasley pointed down the hall to the stairs leading to the ground floor. Where the exit is.
Brianna snorted in annoyance. Before leaving, she approached a man who looked simple and a little tacky. Neatly tucked clothes, shoes like lowly office workers, hair that is combed down and looks slippery from hair oil, shabby cloth pants, and doesn't forget thick glasses. Evan. The man who is Brianna's senior has always been the subject of bullying on the campus where Brianna studied. That's what happened to this pathetic man, that's also what made Brianna beat the girl earlier.
In Brianna's opinion, it was natural that Evan became the target of bullying. How not, judging by his appearance and his shy and introverted nature, he has the potential to be the target of bullying. Coupled with his tenderness and inability to defend himself. Really easy target.
"Hey, you! I'm questioning your gender. You're a man, please learn to defend yourself, you idiot! You want to be the target of bullying all the time, don't you? People like you are so annoying! So listen to this carefully. If you can't punch or beat people because you are not strong, then just use both your hands like batting a baseball. Hit it in all directions hard! Let their bones break. One more thing, my name is Brianna and I hate pathetic men like you."
Brianna walked away from the man. Behind him, Mrs. Weasley rubbed her temples in frustration.
"Uh, that girl makes my blood pressure go up every minute." Mrs. Weasley grumbled.
"Ah! Are you okay?" She asked Evan who was still dumbfounded by Brianna's words.
"Do I look that pathetic, Mrs?" He muttered quietly.
Mrs. Weasley gaped for a moment. She wanted to tell the truth that the boy looked very pitiful. His days are always tormented by bullying, whether it's being beaten by a group of men, being splashed with juice by a coquettish woman, being considered non-existent, and so on.
"No, Evan. But if you can, please learn self-defense. You have to be strong to protect yourself. Now, clean yourself first." Mrs. Weasley returned to her desk.
"Brianna? Interesting." Evan smiled remembering how Brianna beat the girl who splashed her head with juice for getting in the way. But a second later, his face looks annoyed because he remembers when Brianna called him pathetic.
"How impudent she calls me pathetic."
