Chapter 1 I Shouldn’t Fall In Love With A Yakuza (Chapter One)

"Hey! Stop! Stop right there!" shouted the policewoman while chasing criminals who tried to escape from her pursuit. The policewoman was agile and alert enough that in just a few minutes she was able to catch up and immediately lunged at the criminal until both of them fell to the ground. The policewoman knew how to position herself so she wasn't hurt; maybe just a few scratches, but not the thug whose face smacked the ground with success. There were many bruises and sharp scratches on her face. The policewoman swiftly grabbed the criminal's hands and handcuffed him.

"How dare you run from me, huh?! You bastard! Stay still! I said, stay still!" shouted the policewoman once again as she straightened the criminal's body violently.

"Irish!" The policewoman, named Irish, immediately turned her body after she was sure the criminal would not run away again. She found a petite woman in the same uniform as her, running up to her. When the woman arrived in front of her, the woman leaned on her knees and tried to catch her breath because she was panting after running after Irish. Irish, who saw the petite woman still looking tired, just rolled her eyes lazily.

"Kira Valdez, you're a policewoman. Why are you so tired of chasing after this?! It is our job to be after criminals!" Irish complained, seeing her partner still not making a sound because she couldn't control her breath. The partner just lifted and opened her palms, asking her to wait a moment until she could catch her breath. After she could, the petite woman who also works in the same profession as her showed a sullen face, which only added to her cuteness.

"Irish, I told you not to call me Kira. Call me Kaye. We are friends, right?!"

"Correction. We are co-workers."

"Irish! You are so cruel. I thought we were friends?"

"And you just realized that?!" Irish said with a tone of sarcasm. She once again rolled her eyes lazily when she saw her partner's spoiled behavior. She wondered why, of all the police, she could pair up with a woman who was definitely not like this cop.

"Irish." She then turned to the side when she heard her name called. Oh, finally she knows the answer to the question she asked earlier. She was able to pair up with this petite woman because of the person who called out to her just now. She had wanted to protest the person's decision, but given her position, she couldn't help but obey. Irish has always been polite to her own boss. So as soon as the person approached her, she immediately saluted and bowed to the person.

"Captain Smith." She said firmly to Captain Smith or Sandra Smith, a female captain from the police south of the City of Manila.

"How many times have I told you that you should just call me Sandra? I am your sister-in-law." If only Irish could, she would bang her head on the wall because once again she has to be faced with someone whose profession doesn't suit her attitude. Captain Sandra Smith, in front of her, has an attitude that is almost similar to Kira's, only the woman still looks mature compared to the latter. Sandra also has a face that is too beautiful to be a police officer in her opinion. She might as well be an artist or a model.

"And I have told you many times, when we are in the field, you are my boss. I should call you Captain Smith at all times." She replied, annoyed, and emphasized "Captain Smith" words to her sister-in-law.

"You're so annoying, Irish Smith." Sandra murmured while pursing her lips cutely. Irish wanted to tap herself on the forehead because she saw the captain's non-police attitude.

"Stop giving me that face. You make us look like women." She said it again. She was completely at her wits' end in dealing with these women around her. She seemed to forget that she was also a woman.

"Irish." Suddenly, Kira called her. She seemed to be trying to get her attention, but she was too focused on her bickering with Sandra.

"But we are women." Sandra didn't want to lose even a bit.

"But we are also cops. Oh My God. Why are all the female cops with me spoiled?!" She replied and complained about her current situation.

"Irish." Kira tried again, but the woman still ignored her.

"You're too tomboyish." Sandra said it again. She is stubborn when she is dealing with Irish, who she thinks is too serious and too passionate about her job as a police officer.

"I'm just doing my job." Irish also said she didn't want to lose. It’s not in her nature.

"But Irish." Kira tried again and this time Irish turned to her, even though with an annoyed face because of her mouth fight with Sandra, which really bothered her.

"What is it this time, Kira? Don't bother me while I'm talking to the captain."

"The criminal's on the run again. We might lose him if we stay still." Kira said casually while pointing at the criminal who had run even though he was still quite close with his hands tied in handcuffs. Irish rolled her eyes at Kira as if to say 'why didn't you tell me earlier', to which only the petite woman responded by shrugging her shoulders as if she didn't know anything.

"Oh shit! Hey! Come back here!" Irish immediately ran again to chase the criminal while the two female police officers who were with her looked at her while talking to each other.

"Why is she so serious about her job anyway?!" Kira complained that she was not satisfied because while working with Irish, the woman had always been firm and rigid with her.

"I don't know, Kira. I wonder if she has a boyfriend, huh?!" Sandra thought seriously about a response that had absolutely nothing to do with Kira’s complaint.
