BETWEEN THE IMMORTALS

CHAPTER ONE: THE GODDESS OF LOVE AND PEACE

In the highest could where the immortals (gods and goddess) reside, there were all the virtues of the world and of heaven.

Both the gods and the goddess looked down at the people the ruled, very peaceful, very calm, only love prevailed.

At the very far end was golden chair with silver edges and pieces of all precious things hanging from it. This was the special chair for the goddess of love and peace. Leaning gracefully backwards, the goddess of love and peace smiled at what she was on earth.

In terms of appearance, the goddess of love rocked. Her long shiny black hair that swept on her waist, a few strands of hair hung in her face, her big black sexy eyes and her face smooth and full of color. Her long fingers rested on the left arm of the chair and she swung the bracelets attached to her wrist.

“Smiles goddess, how do you see the world and the people below us?” came the goddess of transparency.

“Umm… very fine. Generally, they’re doing well.” Goddess of love replied.

“Everyone is jealous about your close love with the godmother.” Sitting on the adjacent chair, the goddess of transparency said.

“Who am I if not the goddess of peace and love? What will I be standing for if I don’t love and be loved by those around me? Goddess of transparency, are you also jealous of me?” the goddess of love asked.

“To be frank, sometimes I feel jealous but I remind myself that everyone has to prevail as per their virtues.” She replied.

“Exactly.” The goddess of love said. “so far, has godmother given anyone a chance to make a request?”

“Umm… last time I was told the goddess of mercy personally requested to talk to godmother and she made a request. It was granted. But then, I don’t know about others.”

After the goddess of transparency left, the goddess of love and peace maintained her posture with a smile on her face until when godmother personally left her place and looked for her gracious daughter who rarely left her royal seat.

“My daughter.” The godmother greeted. She rarely left her royal seat but today, she personally cam to see her daughter.

“Gracious godmother. I salute your presence.” The goddess stood up respectfully.

“For long you’ve been here but as I can, you’re happy. What makes my daughter soo happy?” she asked.

“godmother…” she bowed, “seeing all the creature down on earth happy.” Curving her mouth, the goddess said.

“Mmh…” godmother stole a glance down.

“That’s what we all want godmother. No more pain, no more vices, just love, peace and unity.” The goddess said. “Gracious godmother…” the goddess knelt down at the feet of godmother.

“My daughter, what do you have to say?”

“all the goddess, all your precious daughters always come to you to ask for favors, but I, the goddess of love and peace have never in my lifetime asked you for a favor or made a request. What I do is look at the people below and bless them with what I have.” She said.

“Very true my daughter.”

“But today gracious godmother, I want to ask for a favor from you my highness.”

“For long dear daughter, I have waited for the day you will ask me, your godmother for a favor because you have done a great job and no one can turn down such a darling goddess. Speak up my beloved daughter.” Roughening the goddess’ long soft hair, godmother said while helping her up

Walking slowly from his special shiny yellow seat, a tall figure with black hair and distant black eyes appeared from different corners of the cloud of gods and goddess. Today, the god of strength was walking around for fun and leisure. Picking leaves and placing them lightly on his milking white, almost transparent teeth, gently kicking the gracious stones was the god of strength.

Charming as he was, he was loved by others for his extraordinarily outstanding appearance.

“hey…” came the god of happiness.

“What?” the god of strength stopped in his tracks.

“You haven’t rested on your seat today, everyone was looking for you. It took me eternity looking for you. I was in the far east but was told you left few, minutes ago.” He said.

“why is everyone looking for me?” the god of strength asked.

“probably everyone just wants to be around you as usual. Besides, it’s the favors day, the last day of the full moon in the god’s calendar remember?”

“Ooh… forgive my memory. Has godfather opened his chamber?” he asked.

“Yeah, everyone done, he’s waiting for you.”

Slowly, the god of strength went to meet godfather in his chamber. He was truly waiting for his son.

“Son, where have you been?” godfather asked.

“His highness, I have been walking around enjoying all the beautiful scenes in the world of gods and goddess.” Bowing his head, the god of strength said.

“Everyone has made their request except for you precious son, what can I do for you?”

“To start with, am sorry for being late godfather, please forgive me. And, father, I want to visit the world.”

This made the godfather stop midway and look up at the innocent face of his son. So far, he had never made any request and this was his first request.

“I’ve observed the world and the people below, I just want to visit them.”

“Are you sure about this?”

“I’ve been thinking about it for long and finally, I please ask for that chance.”

“request granted but, remember to come back to us.”

…

For time, the god waited for his time to depart from the cloud of gods and goddess, each tick of time counting.

For days, he spent time fantasying about his life on earth as an immortal.

How his life was going to be is what godfather hid from him.

He didn’t spend time with other gods who liked hanging out with him, but remained alone with a permanent smile imprinted on his face.

He waited for that one say, your time is here.

He was either walking alone thinking, or being on his seat turning away all disturbances, or with godfather in the holy chamber.

Godfather was solemn, he had granted the request, but he would miss his dear son.

“but he promised to come back…

He promised not to forget his origin and godfather’s sacrifice to send him to the earth.

“I’ll remain in my chamber waiting hopefully for your return. I will wait to have you by me again. You’re the one when will get me out of my boredom when you come back.” Godfather said.

“I promise… I will come back and get you out.” The god replied.

“Your memories will be here with me, but after a while, you’ll get them back so that you won’t forget your origin all through your life on earth.”

“ok… thank you godfather.” The god of strength replied.

“Your time is here. Go well precious son.” Standing on the highest point in the cloud of gods and goddesses, godfather patted his son for his time to depart was here.

There was darkness for a long time as the soul left to join the mortal. Godfather never left the place… there came light and he walked slowly back to his chamber…
