The concord between fairies, witches, vampires, warlocks, werewolves, and others caused a significant growth in the number of creatures without abilities.
Humanoid beings with brightly colored, white, or black wings flew over the air, while those with gills, thin skin, and tails with luminescent scales instead of legs flooded the waters. There were so many different colors and so much beauty. They were the equivalent of Gods and Goddesses, Kings and Queens.
Then the country's inhabitants started to interbreed, giving rise to mankind.
Everything fell apart in less than two centuries. Magical beings soon became mythical creatures. Jealousy develops in humans. They desired the power, but they began to destroy the supernatural realm when they couldn't have it.
Humans began to turn against their own pure-born families and friends. Using their own family's secrets, they started making weapons out of molten silver, such as wooden stakes, nets, and iron traps. The supernatural population was fast dwindling.
Humans took control within a thousand years, and every supernatural entity transformed into an animal or stayed as human as possible to fit in. When witches and warlocks were being burnt at stake, survival was essential.
The pure-born had lost their desire to battle.
They'd battled for millennia, but it wasn't enough when humans could reproduce and the supernatural couldn't. They were not only a few, but they were also in great danger.
Interbreeding between supernatural creatures was no longer tolerated. It made no difference how much a supernatural entity loved another. One mistake their forefathers made that they were resolved not to repeat was interbreeding.
The Spirit World abruptly crumbled. They were unable to govern or harm people. They were neither Spirits of the Moon, Sun, or Stars, nor were they Spirits of Fire, Earth, Water, or Wind.
Their mayhem left the globe in shambles. The great Spirits, on the other hand, knew one thing. They need more pure-born offspring – youngsters of their race. Mates were assigned to individuals who had been gifted abilities by the Spirits. Souls got entwined, ensuring a pure-born while forming a tie that even death could not break.
Some werewolf packs opted to remain in their original state; they used to struggle for more territory and food. Others opted to be human, even governing as Kings and Queens. They were compelled to integrate their human form after the Great War began.
That's when the werewolves agreed to form a pact. Instead of attacking humans, they stopped fighting each other, mainly if their partners were in another pack.
The shift to having mates was difficult at first, not only for werewolves but for all magical beings. As a result, the Spirits led them to each other. They made sure that they would meet regardless of where, how, or when.
This was not only a technique to advance the supernatural race, but it was also a way to prevent Hybrids from arising. When two different abilities met, a hybrid was produced instead of a person. A one-in-a-billion probability, at best.
However, that Hybrid, that specific kid, would not only have both abilities but once fully developed, they could wreak devastation on the planet like no other.
And the Spirit world would go to any length to prevent them.
