Ryan
A fearful smile escaped her lips as frustration hissed out of her. She took a deep breath, her lungs gasping for air. Her eyes scanned the sitting room, and she sighed, feeling haunted. Why was she so scared today?
With trembling steps, she moved closer to the stairs, her heart racing madly. This was a new feeling for her. She was never scared of Darrell's torture; she was almost addicted to his bullying. She was just his robot, and he was her uncle. She respected him, but she was never afraid of his madness. However, today was different. She swallowed her worries and began to climb the stairs.
"Hey!" His voice, filled with horror, shot into her ears, and she shivered under its blackening effect. She genuflected and spun around immediately. He walked out of the kitchen, holding a mug of creamy hot coffee in his palm.
"Sneaking into the house?" Darrell asked, walking toward her.
"Y-yes... No!" She stuttered, and he stood in front of her.
"And where are you coming from?"
"I just got back from school," she said.
"Wow," he sipped from his mug. "You're ten minutes late, do you realize that?"
"I'm sorry. I have a hurt on my feet, and I couldn't walk as usual."
"Sometimes you amaze me, wetly. You seem to be growing stronger in your lying skills every day."
"I'm not lying."
"I can actually pull off my shoes, so you can see for yourself."
"I'm truly hurt," she said amidst tears. He smiled and inched closer. She shut her eyes when she felt a hot, thick liquid cascade from her shoulder down her chest. Her face contorted in pain, and she winced as the scalding coffee mercilessly burned her soft flesh.
"Sorry!" He said, and she opened her eyes.
"I hate liars," he uttered, and she blinked. The pending tears streamed down her face without restraint.
"Now, where's Nick?" He asked.
"I haven't seen him," she ignored the black pain sinking into her young flesh and replied immediately. "I'm about to go out when he comes back. Pass this message to him at dawn," he smiled. "Tell him I want to feed on his flesh tonight." He concluded, and with that, he was gone.
God!!
She exhaled and stared at her burned skin. A sad hiss escaped her lips, and slowly, she grabbed her backpack and rushed up to her room.
She is Ryan Swagger, a 19-year-old who just celebrated her high school graduation. Standing at an average height, she has a slender body type that exhibits a delicate grace as she moves through life's trials.
Ryan's lustrous hair cascades down her shoulders, its deep chestnut hue framing her face and accentuating her features. Her captivating eyes, the color of a tranquil ocean, hold a glimmer of resilience, a reflection of her inner strength. Her appearance exudes a natural charm, a blend of innocence and wisdom earned through life's hardships.
Her younger brother, Nick, is only 15. Life hasn't been easy for them since they lost their beloved parents a few years ago. But despite the challenges, they always manage to find a reason to smile. That's what makes their story so remarkable.
The main source of their struggles is a person named Darrell. Ever since he took over their late father's business, he seemed to revel in their unhappiness. Ryan and Nick became strangers in their own home, forced into servitude and denied their rightful inheritance. It was a truly heart-wrenching situation, but they never let it steal their joy. They found solace in the simplest of things, making their resilience all the more inspiring.
For Nick, happiness came in the form of an unusual fascination with cobwebs and the tiny spiders that scurried about. It may seem peculiar to others, but to him, it was a thrilling adventure every time he observed those intricate webs. His innocent curiosity turned something ordinary into something extraordinary, reminding us to find joy in unexpected places.
As for Ryan, her happiness blossomed from a dreamy infatuation with Derrick. Though she knew they could never be together in reality, she treasured the moments she spent envisioning him in her dreams. Derrick had a magnetic charm that transcended ordinary humans, and gazing into his deep blue eyes ignited a fire of determination within her. He became her source of strength, empowering her to conquer the sadness that threatened to overwhelm her.
She organized Darrell's dinner on the table and rushed up to her room. She hadn't seen Nick, and her patience was wearing thin. She checked the time; Darrell would be home any moment now. She let out a deep breath and made her way to the bathroom. Discarding the towel around her waist, she stared at her scarred flesh, filled with reminders of past pain. Some wounds couldn't be healed, and even if they eventually closed, the scars would remain as a constant reminder. Absentmindedly, her arm brushed against her chest, causing a sharp pang of pain to shoot through her. She winced and directed her gaze to the spot. Sometimes, she wished her life could just fly away, but that wasn't an option. Life isn't always fair; every creature faces challenges and finds their own sources of happiness. And she has hers, so there's no reason to hate her life, right? Darrell is her challenge, and Derrick is her escape. That means she's living a normal life, right? She wiped away her tears and turned on the shower, wincing as the warm water stung her wounds and scars.
After her shower, she emerged from the bathroom, tears still clouding her eyes. She struggled to find her way to the dressing table, stumbling over the stool before regaining her balance. Wiping her eyes, she sat down and unconsciously applied her cream, took her medication, and put on her nightwear. Weakened, she slumped onto the bed, her bones aching with sorrow. Her heart skipped a beat as she heard the sound of Darrell's car pulling into the driveway. Fear gripped her tightly, and she jolted up from the bed, sensing the impending nightmare that awaited her. She knew she was doomed.
She wished she could lock her door and stay hidden in her room, but she couldn't. She had to go and taste a bit of his meal to prove it wasn't poisoned. In a flash, she dashed down the stairs and leaned against the wall, waiting for him to storm in. Finally, he staggered through the door, and her eyes widened with fear. His eyes glowed fiercely.
Dear God!!
What was he into? It wasn't normal for human eyes to glow like that.
"Where's Nickolas?" he demanded.
"Uhm..."
"Don't tell me you let him escape," he said, pulling out a pocket knife.
"Please..." she pleaded, but her words fell on deaf ears. He was determined. She tried to run, but it was too late. She felt a sharp blade pierce her...

Get back with me; my wife will still be you." Her scheming sister purred, "I'll keep your fiancé company. Enjoy your life with a mechanic." Kiera shut them down. "Leave us alone. We're good together." Then the twist hit: the "mechanic" was a secret billionaire! In front of the world, he knelt with a one-of-a-kind diamond. "My love, I'll cherish you for life."
