The Contract Marriage Deal

I glanced at my dressing again and smiled. It was my boyfriend's birthday and I had promised to rock it with him since I have never celebrated it for him for three years now.

I just wanted to give him a tangible and special gift even though I don't have the money but I had planned it ahead and worked from different angles just to get him the gift.

My best friend Skylar actually thought of the gift I would get for him and the idea was a bit off.

She first said a condom and I wanted to poke because why the hell would someone get her boyfriend's condom. That was too cheap.

We then made another discovery and trust me, it was better.

Anthony Ricardo has been my boyfriend for the past three years and even though he got me nothing for my birthdays, I still appreciated his prayers.

I could say he was more like my everything and I couldn't imagine life without him.

Don't judge me if I say this but then again, you can't just stop loving your first love even with the slightest mistake that comes.

I applied my gloss and packed the gift into the small bag I bought yesterday.

I had called him in the morning and he told me he was busy with work and would be free in the evening so I had to just be silent with that.

It is finally evening and I can now give him the surprise. I'm sure he would be thrilled and happy.

Mind me, I could just brief you with my name and I would introduce myself later on.

"I'm Rachel Lynn and Raelynn for short."

I glanced at myself from the mirror again and I was good to go. I walked outside my apartment and locked the door.

Waving at the cab man coming my way, it stopped and I hopped in. "De Santiago 257" I said and he started the engine.

Staring at the beautiful sight outside the cab. I smiled and made a remark in my mind. "I know for sure, we would eventually get a house like this and live with no fear in us.

The cab stopped after 20 minutes and I stepped out. His house was a bit far from mine and believe me, I have said countless times to come stay in his house and make things official but he would reject and complain that he needed his time and space.

I paid the man and walked into the garage of his apartment. I could see his car packed outside, indicating he was home.

I pressed the passcode leading to his apartment and the door opened. Getting in, the room was silent like no one was in but I definitely knew he was inside his inner room.

I glanced through the room and my eyes fell on the white opened envelope on the table. I curiously went towards it and picked it up with interest in my eyes.

I opened it and saw a pregnancy test. "Pregnancy test? For who?" I questioned no one in particular, going further to know who the test was for.

My eyes became wide as I saw the name I wouldn't want to see. "Skylar? W….why would her pregnancy test be here? Even if she was pregnant, I should be the one to know first." I sucked on my tooth, trying not to believe what my mind was driving at.

I shouldn't jump into conclusion yet because she has a boyfriend.

I slowly walked toward his room and placed my ears on his door, trying to know if someone was in the room and then it was.

I closed my eyes because God knows I don't want to face this type of betrayer. Even if I wanted to, not from my bestfriend. Not from my childhood best friend. Not from someone who I cherish and share my problems with. I don't want to be backstabbed on two sides.

I eavesdropped with the murmurs and it started.

"I need you Sky, let's get started already. This could be my best birthday gift ever." I heard Anthony's voice with a smooching kiss.

"Baby, when will all this end." The voice came in after the kiss. "The secret, I'm carrying your baby now and we should be planning to meet my parents. Even if we aren't meeting yet. We should make it official, I'm the one in charge and the one rightful to call your fiance." I heard a similar voice that I was hoping it wasn't.

"Let's take things slowly." Anthony's calm voice could be heard and I could feel my heart beating rapidly. Did he just say that?

"Did you just say we should take things easy? Thony, I'm pregnant and this relationship is two years now. I can't hide anymore, seeing that girl makes me want to poke. The way she even talks about you and your sex life. It sucks." I listened to the familiar voice again and that was when I realized my eyes were wet with tears and my heart was bleeding in pain.

"Sex life?" Anthony scoffed. "Did she say sex life? I understand that I got to be her first sex partner but guess what? You're the best. You're so sweet and to my satisfaction. I have a plan already." He announced and I released my hands from the door. I wanted to hear about his new plans.

"And what is that?"

"We could start deceiving her. We could start by telling her that I need money to clear off some debts or I would be dead before a week. Like a million, two million. Or better still I take our sex video and threaten her with it."

I gasped in shock with the revelation. "What the fuck!"

I couldn't believe someone I love, I laid my trust down too. I believed in and wanted good things for our future could be cheating on me with my bestfriend and as if that is not enough. Even plotting to make me wrack in debt.

I loved him. I looked at the gift in my hands and it fell down almost immediately. In tears I picked it up and the door was opened.

"Oh my God." Skylar screamed in shock and fear.
