Chapter 1 A shift in power
Alethea future queen of Lunaria, was hidden, her powers were so great, even her father feared to go against her. Her siblings were jealous as to why she would get so much power when she was just a she wolf.
She was just 16 years old when her eye balls turned blue, a mark only leaders of there tribe could get at a certain age. She found it difficult to control her powers most especially under a full moon.
On a full moon night Alethea ignorantly took a walk around the fields, she felt her bones breaking, every fibre of her being moving to the demand of the gods.
She screamed in pain but there was no one to help her, in her wolf form, she destroyed so many properties her mind not being in sync with her body, she had lost control.
Her father the king ran away from there kingdom to protect his family, from the vicious Alpha Damien.
Aletheas father had to put his family first, since then he kept her identity a secret.
Alpha Demien, always desired to be known as the best, the greatest warrior, he fought kings, that had done him no wrong just to prove to the world that he is there god and emperor.
Alpha Damiens father was a coward, a weakling, a human, as a hybrid, the others always mocked him, and doubted his capabilities.
In his rage, he destroyed everything in his path, only sparing those willing to pay allegiance to him.
"just look at him, to hell with hybrids!, get rid of them all, this town ain't big enough for both of us."
The flashbacks troubled Damiens mind. Despite his power, his loneliness destroyed him deep inside.
He desired to be with someone who could see him for whom he truly is.
He sat in his room, he missed his mother dearly, his mother was his only companion.
And now she was gone, Luther Aletheas father, had killed her, murdered her, left nothing behind not even her bones, and now he runs like a coward.
He would hunt him down and do the same first to his family, and then to him.
Two years had passed since, Luther ran away with his family.
Alethea was getting tired of being hidden, she felt the power surging within her as she jumped and roared.
She had snuck out of the house to have some fun, perhaps kill a prey or two.
She laughed as the humans ran at the sight of her brown fur.
She looked at the hills.
Her father had warned her never to cross over, that was her limit.
But she desired to see so much more, she was bored of seeing the same faces, trees, animals, and hunters.
She ran towards the hill with all her might.
Luther got worried, Alethea was not the silent type she has being quiet for too long he went to her brother's.
He asked them but they all looked startled, he opened the door of her room, and she realized that she was gone.
Luther and his son's ran out in unison, they tried to find her through her scent, then suddenly, a wolf jumped out from the trees and unto Luther.
His son's were ready to attack, when they heard her voice.
"Woah, calm down guys, why so hyper."
Kyle her oldest brother growled at her.
They led her home.
Alethea glanced at the hills , but looked away.
Damien heard of a rebellion in the south side, he took his pack with him.
Another pack was encouraging the people, to stand up against Damien and fight for what's there's.
"Bring forth your leader, and you will be spared."
Damien ordered.
The people stood there ground, there eyes glowing.
"Alright then, gentlemen shall we!."
As swift as lightening Damiens men moved round the building and took out sixteen men. Leaving only ten men standing but shivering.
He sniffed the air and smiled.
"I see, you think you can hide your women and children from me, is that so?."
A dark looking man came out from a room, his hands in his pocket.
He looked furious, and hated Damiens arrogance.
He jumped down from the balcony and stood majestically on his feet, dusting his suit.
"Why don't you and your fellow hybrids, leave this town to whom it truly belongs to."
Damien growled. His claws visible.
"You don't terrify me mate, I actually feel sorry for your men.". He clapped his hands, and Damiens men were ambushed by the she wolves.
Damien laughed.
"Is this your army?."
"My name is Herald, and I am the first son of Alpha Luther, my twin Kyle might be a coward, but I will take what is rightfully mine."
Damiens anger became visible, he thought this was just another wolf trying to be brave, but here stands before him someone carrying the blood of his mother's murderer, things just got personal.
On the other side of the hill while they walked home, Kyle noticed his brothers absence.
"For goodness sake where's Herald?."
They all turned back. He went out with them but was diverted to the other side of the hills.
"I'm getting tired of this search y'all!." Kyle exclaimed clearly frustrated.
He remembered what Herald spoke to him about last night.
"Are we going to seat here like dogs while some squandrel takes our place as the Alpha?."
Kyle did not say a word. His silence enraged Herald, he hit his hand on the desk, causing the tea cup to roll over and break.
"If you won't come with me I will do it all by myself, and don't fight me for the throne then!."
Switching to the Southside, Damien told his men to stand down.
He paced, as he took a look at Herald, his confidence startled him, Herald was a full blooded wolf, and this was the full moon, going against him would be futile, he told his men to retreat.
The people celebrated Heralds return, and there key to freedom.
Damien returned to the places shattering every glass in his path.
"We need to find a way to tame him."
Farouk, Damiens right hand man suggested.
Damien smirked.
"We will soon enough, let them celebrate there tiny victory."
Farouk looked at him curiously.
"What are you going to do?."
Damien looked at him his eyes glowing.
"Wait and watch!."
