My half-brother pinned me against the door, his eyes red: seeing his sister with other boys made him feel an urge to keep me confined!
My younger stepbrother pinned me against the door, his eyes blazing with anger. Seeing his sister with other guys made him feel possessive and protective!
Later, I fled abroad, but my brother chased me all the way...

While I was accompanying Waylon Griffiths, my boyfriend at a social event, my phone buzzed with incoming messages.
I glanced at the screen to see several photos sent by an unknown number, and my expression darkened instantly.
On the photos, Waylon was embracing a girl I didn't recognize, the two of them lost in each other's world, and Waylon and the girl was having a candlelit dinner at a restaurant...
As I flipped through each picture, my anger grew.
When I reflected on recent times, there were moments when he would nervously take calls behind my back, and even the scent of another woman's perfume lingered in his car... everything suddenly made sense!
This jerk was cozying up to other women while fooling me into attending various dinners with him.
Sipping my wine, I watched Waylon from a distance coldly, his eyes full of flattery as he mingled with the business elites.
How dare he deceive me!
I let out a cold snort, set down my glass, and walked straight up to Waylon.
With a sharp "smack, " I slapped the jerk, catching him completely off guard.
The room fell silent, and everyone turned their puzzled gazes toward us.
At that moment, Waylon glared at me with eyes blazing with anger.
"Lindsay Quinn... are you crazy?"
I sneered, tossing the photos at him.
"Waylon... I'm not interested in being part of your cheating games... "
Waylon was momentarily stunned, then his embarrassment turned to rage as he raised his hand to hit me.
"What the hell do you think you are!"
Just then, a well-defined hand with slender fingers intercepted Waylon's slap.
"... Who do you think you are, daring to hit her?"
Seeing Rhett, I was momentarily taken aback. It had been years, and he had shed his youthful innocence, and his once boyish face now had sharp, mature features.
My heart tightened, and my eyes showed a hint of panic.
He had finally returned...
Rhett, my younger stepbrother.
The person I didn't want to see right now was him more than the jerk Waylon.
I didn't linger and turned to leave.
2
Despite having taken some hangover medicine before coming, I was still a bit tipsy.
I staggered, not even making it to the villa's entrance before Rhett blocked my path.
Rhett steadied me by the shoulders, his voice laced with teasing.
"Sister, how did you let yourself get drunk... "
He emphasized the word "sister" heavily.
I tried to break free, but he had no intention of letting me go.
I scoffed.
"When did you come back? You didn't even tell me so I could welcome you properly."
Rhett finally released me, looking at me with a mischievous grin.
"No rush... we'll have plenty of time to catch up later."
My expression shifted slightly, but my tone remained indifferent.
"I have things to do, I'm leaving... "
With that, I tried to bypass him and leave.
Unexpectedly, he grabbed my arm again, his voice was deep and smooth, like a cello's melody.
"Sister... let me take you home."
I removed Rhett's hand and walked away.
"No need... I can manage on my own."
The wind in the countryside was exceptionally cold, and memories replayed in my mind.
When I was 24, this stepbrother had pinned me against a door, his eyes blazing. Seeing his sister with other guys made him feel possessive and protective!
I couldn't accept it, thinking he was crazy.
Later, he went abroad, and I moved out of that house because of it.
This party was held at a villa in the countryside, and Waylon had driven me here. But after I waited a long time, no driver picked up the order on Uber.
For tonight's event, I had worn a shoulder-baring, tight-fitting dress, and now I was shivering in the wind.
I didn't like these kinds of gatherings, but I couldn't resist Waylon's pleading and was forced to accompany him! Thinking about our three months together, I realized I had been treated like a mere banquet companion, enduring the lecherous gazes of those old men.
I felt completely foolish, and as I laughed, I crouched down and began to cry.
Until I felt someone drape a coat over me, and a voice above me spoke with indescribable gentleness.
"Let's go... I'll take you home."
Stubbornly, I stood still, refusing to move.
Rhett sighed, his voice tinged with a hint of helplessness.
"... I'm no longer that impulsive boy. I won't do anything to hurt you. Trust me one more time, okay?"
I looked at him in disbelief, but I still allowed Rhett to help me into the car.
4
Inside, Rhett turned on the heater and some music.
"If you're tired, you can rest for a bit."
"OK. " I replied, either gazing out the window or closing my eyes to feign sleep.
The song playing was "Take Me To Your Heart, " a song I loved during my school days.
When the melody of "Legends Never Die" started, I was momentarily taken aback.
I had been listening to this song a lot recently!
What a coincidence.
The atmosphere in the car was indescribably strange, making the journey feel interminable.
Finally, we arrived at the apartment complex. I moved to take off his jacket to return it to him.
Rhett, sitting in the driver's seat, looked at me with a calm expression.
"You can keep it on for now. Just bring it back when you visit home in a few days."
With that, he drove off, leaving me bewildered.
Home? Oh, it had been a while since I visited my dad and stepmom.
I gave a wry smile.
Rhett took his mother's surname, while I took my mother's. My dad schemed his whole life, only to become a joke.
Rhett was the son of my dad and stepmom, while I was the child of the woman my dad abandoned. I was brought to live with my dad when I was five. And Rhett, at three then, was adorably chubby, much like the plump little yellow dog my grandfather had. He was the only person in that family I genuinely liked!

In the bar, the loud music pounded against my eardrums, and the dazzling lights reflected off the moonlit glasses filled with Lafite.
My best friend and I drank and vented about men, eventually getting a bit tipsy and leaning back in the booth to rest.
My friend beckoned to me with a mischievous look.
"Girl... let's go!"
I caught on quickly, pulling her towards the dance floor.
Who would care about scumbags or brothers... I wanted freedom!
After dancing for a while, I felt thirsty.
Stumbling back to the booth, I turned and saw Rhett. He was lounging lazily on the sofa, a cigarette between his fingers, his gaze cold yet alluring.
With the courage given by alcohol, I found myself standing in front of Rhett, pointing at him.
"Why are you everywhere, like a bad penny that keeps turning up?"
With that, I stumbled and fell into his arms!
Rhett held me, his voice low and husky with a hint of teasing.
"Sister... are you throwing yourself at me?"
Startled, I quickly stood up, muttering under my breath.
"OMG... is this a real person?"
The next day, as the alcohol wore off, Rhett's roguish smile lingered in my mind, sending a shiver through me.

After I exposed Waylon's scandal, I expected him to confront me personally.
Instead, I was met by his mother and his "fiancée"!
Shamelessly, they found me at my workplace. But without Waylon's guidance, how could they have known so much...
In their slander, I became the seductress, the homewrecker!
Leaning against the railing, I ignored the ambiguous glances from others, coldly looking down at the ignorant woman behaving like a shrew.
"Tired of yelling? Go home and ask your son how fun it is to play the cheating game. If he dares to play, he should have the courage to face the consequences!"
The woman grew even more furious after hearing that.
"You shameless homewrecker, how dare you show your face!"
I sneered.
"Ma'am, it's not just me who's shameless. Your son, Waylon Griffiths of Twilight Technology, is too!"
Then I added, "I heard Twilight Technology is going public. Your antics might damage the company's reputation!"
As expected, upon hearing this, the two left awkwardly, but I knew my reputation was beyond saving.
Sitting at my desk, I recalled the fleeting smirk on a colleague's face.
Those two could easily get in, likely because someone let them.
This incident had a significant impact on the company, and I had to take full responsibility.
I decisively submitted my resignation letter.
The director hesitated, casting ambiguous glances my way.
I spoke calmly, "Thank you, Amanda, for your mentorship over the years."
As I expected, there was no attempt to retain me. She should be grateful for my voluntary resignation.
Then I had spent most of my time preparing for further studies which was applied three months ago.
The process was complicated and slow, but I finally received a definite response from abroad last week.
In hindsight, it was perfect timing. Now, I had no ties holding me back!
"GET THIS FAT, SHAPELESS COW OUT OF MY PRESENCE!" I claimed our Alpha as my mate, he insulted and rejected me in front of the whole pack, resisting the mate bond. "GET THIS FAT, SHAPELESS COW OUT OF MY PRESENCE!" He said, and even with his cruel words, my wolf whined and cried out to him. Getting sold later for a few pennies was the worst heartbreak I could ever wish for. But not until I got a second chance at love with the Howling Alphas. Being mated to 2 Alphas isn't a problem. But there are more and they're all fighting for my attention. With war looming amongst the werewolf clan and plentiful revelations from the Moon Goddess, I'm presented as the solution to the ultimate problem, but that would mean even more pain for me. Will my mates choose me over their pack and the entire werewolf clan, even though they have little or no choice in the matter? Yet, with the ongoing chaos, someone is still staking his claim on me. Who is this man?
I received a pornographic video. "Do you like this?" The man speaking in the video is my husband, Mark, whom I haven't seen for several months. He is naked, his shirt and pants scattered on the ground, thrusting forcefully on a woman whose face I can't see, her plump and round breasts bouncing vigorously. I can clearly hear the slapping sounds in the video, mixed with lustful moans and grunts. "Yes, yes, fuck me hard, baby," the woman screams ecstatically in response. "You naughty girl!" Mark stands up and flips her over, slapping her buttocks as he speaks. "Stick your ass up!" The woman giggles, turns around, sways her buttocks, and kneels on the bed. I feel like someone has poured a bucket of ice water on my head. It's bad enough that my husband is having an affair, but what's worse is that the other woman is my own sister, Bella. ************************************************************************************************************************ "I want to get a divorce, Mark," I repeated myself in case he didn't hear me the first time-even though I knew he'd heard me clearly. He stared at me with a frown before answering coldly, "It's not up to you! I'm very busy, don't waste my time with such boring topics, or try to attract my attention!" The last thing I was going to do was argue or bicker with him. "I will have the lawyer send you the divorce agreement," was all I said, as calmly as I could muster. He didn't even say another word after that and just went through the door he'd been standing in front of, slamming it harshly behind him. My eyes lingered on the knob of the door a bit absentmindedly before I pulled the wedding ring off my finger and placed it on the table. I grabbed my suitcase, which I'd already had my things packed in and headed out of the house.
Camille Lewis was the forgotten daughter, the unloved wife, the woman discarded like yesterday's news. A mysterious trillionaire Alexander Pierce steps into her path, offering something she thought she lost forever, a future. But can a woman built on ashes learn to love again? She rose from the fire to destroy those who betrayed her. Now, she must decide if she'll rule alone... or let someone melt the ice in her heart.
Sunlit hours found their affection glimmering, while moonlit nights ignited reckless desire. But when Brandon learned his beloved might last only half a year, he coolly handed Millie divorce papers, murmuring, "This is all for appearances; we'll get married again once she's calmed down." Millie, spine straight and cheeks dry, felt her pulse go hollow. The sham split grew permanent; she quietly ended their unborn child and stepped into a new beginning. Brandon unraveled, his car tearing down the street, unwilling to let go of the woman he'd discarded, pleading for her to look back just once.
A year into the marriage, Thea rushed home with radiant happiness-she was pregnant. Jerred barely glanced up. "She's back." The woman he'd never let go had returned, and he forgot he was a husband, spending every night at her hospital bed. Thea forced a smile. "Let's divorce." He snapped, "You're jealous of someone who's dying?" Because the woman was terminal, he excused every jab and made Thea endure. When love went cold, she left the papers and stormed off. He locked down the city and caught her at the airport, eyes red, dropping to his knees. "Honey, where are you going with our child?"
Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé. Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now-billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn't mind. I'd crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one? Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That's when it hit me-he didn't love me. He didn't even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn't even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup. So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster-my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise. Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Enter him. Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I'd met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised. But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I'd ever made. Because my one-night stand isn't just some random guy. He's richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he's not letting me go.
