"Get up, its time" He shouts at the convict sleeping on the mat. The convict wakes up taking his time without making any sound. He seems to be not bothered by the urgency in the officer's tone.
Black hair, grown upto the length of his shoulder covers most of his face. Wide shoulders and tall height radiates a feeling of oppression from him. He looks like a giant, whatever perspective a person looks at him. The door is opened and he is escorted by two other officers to the common bathroom where he is provided both hot and cold water to shower. He finishes his bath quickly as the bathroom is guarded by the officers to make sure he doesn't escape.
As soon as he finishes his bath, he is taken back to his cell, where another officer asks him a question.
"Do you have a favourite food? You can have anything as long as it is available."
The convict stares at the officer who asked the question for quite some time.
"You can't make what I want. I will pass."
A rough bass sound emerges from the mouth of the convict which terrifies the officer a bit. The officer takes his reply to his senior who tells him to do as the convict demands.
After an hour or so a doctor comes to the cell to check upon the convict to make sure he is healthy. After the doctor leaves, one of the previous officers provides the common religious texts in front of the convict. The convict ignores it till another group of officers comes to his cell when a gong is struck at 5 am.
They escort him to a room with many people present in it. There is a noose hanging from a certain height below which there is a trap door the lever to which is held by a burly man. The convict looks at the man for some time before changing his attention to other people in theroom.
The jail superintendent, deputy superintendent, the magistrate, the doctor who checked his condition before and another unkown medical officer were the other people he could figure out from their dresses.
He is taken to the noose and his hands and legs are tied by the escorting officers. The magistrate opens a folder tied up by a knot and reads out aloud.
The magistrate starts to read the file from start to finish which basically says that he has verified the person who is going to be hanged here is the convict itself.
"Do you have any last words to say?"
The convict doesn't pay to any of what he said and just stares forward. The superintendent motions the officers to cover his face with a hood which they do so.
Time is 5:50 when the noose is put round his neck and tightened.
At sharp 6 am, the executioner pulls the lever activating the trap door through which the convict falls through and starts to struggle.
After struggling for a 3 minutes, the body finally ends up stll and the body is brought down to verify whether he is dead.
At 6:10 am, the medical officer verifies that the convict Noir Rivera is dead.
