A few strands of her hair were fallen over her face and her large brown eyes were unfocused and glazed, as she fought hard to keep them open. He subtly smiled and shook his head once, the urge to flick her hair backward growing in him. He had always advised her not to work so much, but she was bent on keeping her father's legacy alive, even when she burned out easily. He admired her courage and resilience, as well as her resolve to not let anything stop her including her stepmother's threats. He could only hope she had the strength to move past that guy. When the driver got to her flat, Scott got out and opened the door for her while he carried out all her things. She smiled at him gratefully and opened the door to her fully furnished apartment and let him come in after her to drop her things. When he was done, she thanked him and told him about an online meeting she needed him to be present for, and Scott instantly faltered and shook his head. He wouldn't be able to make it to her house once it was past six pm. Gina glared at him for a second, but when he matched her gaze and refused to back down, she sighed and turned away from him. At that moment, she considered telling him to teach her some defensive moves but decided against it. The guy easily did everything for her, with or without her asking, and surely he must have a good reason for not being available at night. Suddenly she blurted out, "Do you work another job at night?" He instantly nodded his head at her question and told her he worked for some relatives and he couldn't skip a day off. Understandably, she nodded and bid him good night. Scott turned to leave, but paused and looked back at her, "Gina, I know this isn't any of my business, but be careful about Dave. He's not trustworthy." She looked at him, a dazed expression on her face before she masked it with a blank stare. "Right, it's none of your business." He simply nodded once and walked out of her house, and she collapsed further onto the chair. Maybe she was too harsh. She got up and moved towards the door, but the sound of the car fading away stopped her in her tracks and she sighed. She relaxed for a moment long
